US Department of Defense leadership received instructions to slow down the provision of Starshield satellite network services to Ukrainian military personnel. As reported by Reuters, this directive came from the White House.

Sources on decision details

The information was confirmed by three sources. The Starshield system, which is the military version of SpaceX's Starlink service, is used by Ukraine to ensure battlefield communications and control of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Officials did not disclose who exactly in the presidential administration made such a decision and who was directly responsible for its implementation. However, it is known that the Pentagon is the largest customer of Starshield technologies.

US administration reaction

Reuters journalists sought a comment from another unnamed senior official. He denied US President Donald Trump's involvement in this order.

«Президент ніколи не робив такого запиту» ("The President has never made such a request"), he said.

White House representatives did not comment on whether other administration officials could have initiated a similar request.
