Lack of official proposals on freezing the conflict

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasised that Moscow had not received official proposals envisaging a freeze of hostilities along the front line, the lifting of sanctions against Russia, and the recognition of its control over occupied territories. According to media reports, these are the points contained in the new peace plan.

Awareness of Western media publications

At the same time, Lavrov noted that the Kremlin is aware of publications in Western media regarding an immediate cessation of hostilities along the line of contact. In his words, these proposals lack a mechanism for achieving long-term peace.

Support for agreements reached in Anchorage

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow supported the agreements reached at the meeting in Anchorage, which, according to him, are based on a long-term settlement. At the same time, they envisage the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas.

«Отже, усе вирішуватиметься на основі дій наших збройних сил, попри всю нашу готовність до нормальних, розсудливих і чесних переговорів», — заявив Лавров. (Thus, everything will be decided based on the actions of our armed forces, despite our full readiness for normal, reasonable and honest negotiations), Lavrov said.

Earlier, a new peace plan by US President Donald Trump to end Russia's war against Ukraine appeared in the media.
