Daughter's words on the loss
Alina Yarmakova confirmed her father's death in her statement and reported that they are currently awaiting the results of a DNA test for final identification. She also shared personal memories:
(On 19 October, our father Boris Hora, [who is also] Lyubko Hora's father, was killed. We are waiting for the results of the DNA test. More detailed information will follow later. Despite your stubbornness and uncompromising nature, Dad, you gave the world a lot of love. Thank you for raising me in great parental love, perhaps that is why it is so hard right now. Thank you for teaching me to love everything around me. For the incredible adventures, for making it the easiest for me to write an essay every year on the topic "how the summer went"), — wrote the defender's daughter.
Professional activity and participation in the war
Boris Hora dedicated a significant part of his life to studying cave systems and developing the tourism industry. After the start of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Reaction from city authorities
Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal expressed condolences to the deceased's relatives and close ones. In his message, he emphasised Boris Hora's contribution to the popularisation of tourism and speleology:
(Boris knew how to captivate people with travels, opened the world of speleology to the youth, organised mountain hikes and rafting trips on the Dniester. When Ukraine needed protection, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the army. I express my sincere condolences to Boris's relatives and close ones, his friends, and everyone who knew him. Eternal memory to the Defender of Ukraine), — wrote Nadal.
