Air fleet support amid escalation

The Dutch government has decided to provide Ukraine with assistance in the technical maintenance of F-16 fighters, as well as to supply the necessary spare parts and ammunition. This initiative is aimed at strengthening Ukraine's air defence system against the backdrop of massive attacks on cities.

This was announced by Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten in his official post on the social network X.

Agreements following talks with the President of Ukraine

According to the statement by the Dutch Prime Minister, during his conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the parties discussed the state of Ukrainian aviation. Jetten acknowledged that the effective operation of F-16s in Ukraine lacks technical maintenance, component parts, and ammunition. He assured that his country would help meet these needs.

«Подальше посилення української протиповітряної оборони є буквально питанням життя і смерті» (Further strengthening of Ukraine's air defence is literally a matter of life and death), Rob Jetten emphasised.

Assessment of threats from Moscow

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands noted that Russia continues to escalate its aggression, which was again evident over the past weekend, particularly during the strikes on Kyiv. In his view, Moscow is deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure and energy facilities, seeking to make Ukrainian cities uninhabitable and destroy the economy during the winter period.

«Ми не можемо цього допустити» (We cannot allow this), Jetten wrote.

He also added that the Netherlands, together with international partners, is closely monitoring Russian provocations directed against other states.
