Alert for residents of border regions

In the night of 10 October, the Republic of Poland introduced an alert regime in two voivodeships bordering Ukraine. This decision was made against the backdrop of a Russian air attack on Ukrainian territory.

The Governmental Centre for Security (RCB) sent official messages to residents of the Lublin and Subcarpathian voivodeships. The text of the notification mentioned the Russian air strike on Ukrainian territory and the simultaneous presence of Polish fighter jets in the country's airspace.

«УВАГА! Російський повітряний удар на території України. Ситуація перебуває під контролем. У повітряному просторі Республіки Польща діють польські літаки. Чекайте на подальші повідомлення», — зазначили в RCB. ("ATTENTION! Russian air strike on the territory of Ukraine. The situation is under control. Polish aircraft are operating in the airspace of the Republic of Poland. Await further notifications," RCB stated.)

Military aviation actions and operation conclusion

During the Russian attack on Ukraine, Polish military aircraft carried out missions in Polish airspace. This operation lasted until the morning hours and was completed at approximately 8:00 local time.
