Minister's comment on the incident in the Black Sea

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on Russia's attack on commercial ships, which took place near the territorial waters of Bulgaria. As a result of this strike, citizens of Ukraine and Azerbaijan were injured.

Disregard for civilian safety

In his statement, the diplomat noted that the incident once again confirmed Moscow's attitude towards security in the region. "The latest Russian strike on commercial ships near the territorial waters of Bulgaria, which resulted in injuries to citizens of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, once again demonstrates Moscow's deliberate disregard for civilian lives and the safety of shipping in the Black Sea," Sybiha said.

Call to intensify pressure

The Ukrainian minister called on Kyiv's partners to increase pressure on Russia. He emphasised the need to strengthen sanctions and take decisive measures to hold it accountable and protect freedom of navigation.

Hunger as a tool of pressure

Sybiha highlighted the importance of the Black Sea for food supply. "The Black Sea is a vital artery of global food security. Russia is attacking it to turn hunger into a weapon and hold the world hostage. This must be met with decisive action," the diplomat concluded.
