US President Donald Trump commented on the situation surrounding the war in Ukraine, responding to a journalist's question regarding his position on Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin's responsibility for starting the armed conflict. The American leader emphasised that his priority is to end hostilities and promised that he would disclose certain details in the future.
Question about a change of course
During the interview, the journalist reminded Trump of his previous statements in which Ukraine was called a "shame" due to strikes on Russian territory. The conversation centred on whether the US President wanted Zelensky's resignation, despite the fact that Putin started the war.
Focus on casualty statistics
In response, Donald Trump emphasised that he possessed additional information which he would later make public. However, he stressed that he was interested in only one aspect — the swift end of the war.
(Well, you know, I know the details, okay? And at some point I will publish these details. But I don't care about anything except one thing: I want this war to finally end. On average, 25,000 soldiers die every month. Last month, 32,000 soldiers died. And I think both leaders — I am negotiating with both of them — also want this war to end. And I think it will end. That is all that concerns me. I want this war to end), the US President stated.
