Cassation court confirms real estate confiscation

The Cassation Civil Court of the Supreme Court issued a final decision, upholding previous court rulings on asset confiscation. This concerns a house with a total area of 284.9 square metres and six land plots located in the Zolochivska hromada of Kyiv Oblast.

Case details and owners

The real estate, valued at 8.6 million hryvnia, was purchased in April 2023 by the mother of Ruslan Firsov, head of a sector at the Kyiv Customs. The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NABU) announced the adoption of the final decision in this case.

Court's reasoning

During the review of the case, the courts established that the pensioner mother, as well as the customs officer's couple, did not have sufficient legal income to purchase the assets. Firsov and his wife actually used the estate, for which they obtained the corresponding powers of attorney.

The decision in case No. 991/2380/24 is final and not subject to further appeal.
