Abromavychus backs scrapping of employment records

Ukraine's Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavychus  today publicly voiced support for the abolition of employment records. In his view, they are an unnecessary legacy of the Soviet era.

«Хороним совковое наследие. Выслал на согласование в другие органы пакет законов по отмене трудовой книжки. Ждем реакции» (We are burying the Soviet legacy. I have sent a package of laws on the abolition of the employment record to other bodies for approval. Awaiting their reaction), wrote Aivaras Abromavychus on his internet page.

The minister did not specify how soon the abolition of the record, which has indeed outlived its moral usefulness, can be expected.
