Lawyer for Lukash found to be member of UKROP party

The lawyer who recently defended former Justice Minister Yelena Lukash in court, Andriy Smyrnov, turned out to be a member of the UKROP party.

When the lawyer was exposed for this on the social network Facebook, he stated that he is a "patriot and stood at the origins of the EuroMaidan Legal Protection Centre and ran around the courts with other human rights defenders, pulling guys out of them" ("патриот и стоял у истоков центра правовой защиты Евромайдана и бегал с другими правозащитниками по судам, откуда вытягивал парней").

According to Andriy Smyrnov, "with Lukash he fulfilled his mission, and now other lawyers will handle her case" ("Лукаш он выполнил свою миссию, и теперь ее делом будут заниматься другие адвокаты").

Smyrnov simply declined to explain why he had chosen to defend a person who had called for people on Maidan to be "rolled into the asphalt" ("катать в асфальт").
