Ala Landar, owner of the funeral company "Peter the Great", vividly demonstrates how one can combine a loss-making business with a luxurious lifestyle.

Millions in real estate

Landar owns three houses, including a luxurious mansion in Lesnyky village with an area of 535 m². The value of this real estate is estimated at approximately $800,000.

Expensive jewellery and watches

Her jewellery preferences are striking. Among her known acquisitions:

• a ring worth 140,000 hryvnia;
• Ulysse Nardin watches, priced at half a million hryvnia.

Against the backdrop of her overall expenditures, these purchases appear trivial.

Income discrepancy

Despite her luxurious lifestyle, data on her official income raises serious questions.

• In 2021, Ala declared an income of 16.5 million hryvnia, but her business activities showed only 5 million hryvnia.
• Her son declared 14 million hryvnia in 2022, while the income of his sole proprietorship amounted to only 3.7 million hryvnia.

Struggle with competitors

Amidst her successes, competitors are suffering failures. One notable incident was a fire in a rival's pavilion in Kyiv. This occurred shortly after Landar's initiative to create an "Alley of Heroes" on that site.

State awards

Despite the questionable aspects, in 2021 Ala Landar was awarded the title of "Honoured Worker of the Service Sector of Ukraine" by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
