Yefremov's arrest triggered panic among colleagues

Yesterday the Prosecutor General's Office detained former Ukrainian MP and head of the Party of Regions, Alexander Yefremov. The former MP is currently charged with official forgery and abuse of office under aggravating circumstances. There is no talk yet of aiding separatism.

Despite the fact that, it is possible, the case may fall apart in court and Yefremov may be released on bail,  and subsequently flee Ukrainian territory, his detention caused panic among former colleagues.

Thus, MP Alexander Vilkul called on Yefremov to remain silent on his Twitter page.

Naturally, the former head of the Party of Regions has plenty to say about former President Yanukovych and his colleagues, but it is hard even to imagine what specific testimony Alexander Vilkul is afraid of.

The lifting of parliamentary immunity, which MPs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for very recently, will also come in handy.
