Baloga wants to control bloggers

Just over a year has passed since Ukrainian parliamentarians voted for the controversial 16 January laws, promising total control over citizens and media and violating their constitutional rights, when followers of these laws emerged.

This time, a member of the team of former parliamentarian and minister during Yanukovych's era Viktor Baloga Vasyl Petevka submitted a bill on controlling bloggers and their liability for spreading inaccurate information.

Unfortunately, instead of fighting the external enemy, our state officials increasingly attempt to find internal enemies and shift their and our attention to them.

One hopes that the current session of the Verkhovna Rada will not repeat the mistakes of its predecessors and will not attempt to stifle bloggers and freedom of speech in the country.
