Deportations under Trump: Rhetoric vs Reality

Despite Donald Trump's tough rhetoric on mass deportation of illegal immigrants, actual removal rates have proven lower than under Joe Biden.

Statistics do not favour the former president

According to Reuters, 37,660 people were deported during the first month of Trump's presidency. For comparison, in Biden's final full year in office, an average of 57,000 migrants were removed monthly.

Promises vs Facts

During the election campaign, Trump stated that he would immediately deport all illegal immigrants. However, the first months of his new term show that in practice, deportation rates were almost half those of his predecessor.
