The High Court of London has established that the inaction of former PrivatBank owner Hennadiy Boholiubov resulted in the loss of $1 billion in funds, according to NV.

The court ordered Boholiubov to resume the operations of 21 liquidated companies in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), which had been struck off the register due to non-payment of registration fees and acquired "inactive" status.

An investigative report by "Telegraph" showed that the entire business of PrivatBank is structured through a complex three-tier structure: "Ukrainian company" → "Cypriot offshore" → "shareholder in BVI or Belize". In the event of PrivatBank winning the case in London, it will be impossible to recover the assets, as it is not possible to place a seizure on the property of offshore companies that have been struck off the register.

In BVI and Belize, the operations of struck-off companies can be restored even after 5–10 years; it is sufficient simply to pay the arrears on the registration fee. Thus, by not paying a nominal $10,000, Boholiubov is effectively concealing assets worth over $1 billion.

In addition, oligarchs are attempting to hide the "Borivazh" port from British justice, the value of which exceeds $341 million, by transferring it to companies owned by Serhiy Tyhyrko.
