Jamala to represent Ukraine at Eurovision

Yesterday, the final national selection for “Eurovision 2016” from Ukraine took place. The competition was extremely tense, and until the very last second, it remained unclear who would go to the contest – Jamala or the group “Hard kiss”, whom the judges awarded first place.

According to the results of the public vote, the scores for Jamala and “Hard kiss” were equal. However, it is the Tatar singer who will go to the contest, as in such a situation, the advantage is given to the participant who received votes from a larger number of television viewers.

The singer has been desperately trying to break through to the contest for several years and was visibly nervous yesterday.

At the contest, Jamala will perform the song “1944”, about the difficult fate of the Crimean Tatar people.
