Chinese companies may face new challenges if US sanctions policy is tightened.

According to Bloomberg, the potential return of Donald Trump to power has prompted investors to pay attention to the "Pentagon watch list". This list includes Chinese companies that, in the view of the US Department of Defence, have ties to China's armed forces.

Among the companies under close scrutiny are Tencent Holdings and Contemporary Amperex Technology, a manufacturer of batteries for electric vehicles, including those for Tesla.

The inclusion of these corporations in the so-called "1260H list" in January triggered a drop in their share prices. However, it should be noted that inclusion in this registry does not carry automatic sanctions consequences.

The list was originally created at the end of Donald Trump's presidential term to demonstrate the link between commercial and military interests in the People's Republic of China. The Joe Biden administration not only maintained the registry but also significantly expanded it. Currently, it lists more than 130 companies.
