Korban decides to run for Kyiv mayor

The well-known raider and oligarch linked to the Privat group, Hennadiy Korban, appears determined to break into big politics at all costs. After failing in the by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in Chernihiv's 205th constituency, the Ukrop party nominated Korban as a candidate for Kyiv mayor.

This decision was made yesterday.

The oligarch will face competition from former Right Sector member Boryslav Berezha, who left the party's ranks as soon as he entered the Verkhovna Rada.

Residents of the capital are already expecting the appearance of "Charity Foundation" tents in the city, distributing buckwheat and food packages, as was already done in Chernihiv.
