Murayev returns to the media spotlight

Yevheniy Murayev is back on stage, seemingly with the same baggage of rhetoric about "oppressed Russian speakers".

The politician, charged with high treason, disappeared from public view on 25 February 2022, only to unexpectedly "resurface" in Beijing. 

Apparently, his new base is located in a prestigious office in the Galaxy SOHO building, a symbol of modern Chinese glamour. Financial matters do not seem to concern him, nor does the Ukrainian judicial system.

In a video recorded on 8 January 2025, Murayev gives an interview to Alexander Lazarev — another controversial figure known for his ties to pro-Russian circles. Lazarev, who previously worked for Medvedchuk, Shariy and Murayev himself, has once again found himself in the spotlight.

The question arises: what lies behind this "return"? Is Murayev trying to make his mark in politics again? Or is this just another act in a long-familiar game?
