African swine fever outbreak in Vinnytsia region

A mass outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) has been recorded in the Vinnytsia region, prompting a decision by the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission under the Haisyn District Military Administration.

African swine fever is a highly dangerous infectious disease affecting pigs, often leading to mass mortality. Although the virus poses no threat to humans, its economic consequences are significant, as the disease can cause large-scale animal losses in farms. 

There are no effective methods for treating ASF, and infected animals must be culled to prevent further spread of the disease.

The virus is transmitted through contact with infected animals, as well as through contaminated objects and feed. Disease outbreaks can rapidly cover large areas, posing a serious threat to pig farming. 

To contain the spread of ASF, authorities are introducing quarantine measures and conducting thorough monitoring of the situation in the affected regions.
