Scandal surrounding Dmitry Monatik is gaining momentum

A few days ago, a scandal began to unfold around the well-known Ukrainian artist Dmitry Monatik. Several media outlets reported on the performer's planned appearance in Russia. Monatik was immediately hit with a wave of criticism.

However, the artist himself stated that he does not plan to travel to Russia, and that the numerous posters announcing his participation in performances are fake. One might think the incident could be considered resolved. However, today one of Russia's notoriously scandalous publications released information claiming that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had banned Dmitry Monatik from leaving the country.

In fact, it is obvious that the publication's staff are unaware that only a court can restrict border crossing in Ukraine; the SBU has no such authority.

The SBU press service also confirmed the absence of any ban. Meanwhile, Dmitry Monatik himself prefers to remain silent, which leads fans to certain conclusions. It is not unlikely that the concerts were indeed planned. However, following the uproar, the artist decided to cancel his performance.
