Netanyahu heads to Washington for meeting with Trump: agenda includes discussion of Hamas, Iran and new diplomatic horizons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived in the US for a meeting with Donald Trump, with the key topics of the talks set to be the strategy for defeating Hamas, countering Iranian influence, and prospects for strengthening diplomatic ties in the Middle East.

According to reports from Associated Press and The Times of Israel, the Israeli leader flew to Washington on Sunday, stating before his departure that the upcoming negotiations could radically change the geopolitical balance in the region.

"The decisions we have made have already changed the region. Our soldiers have redrawn the map, but joint efforts with President Trump will help make it even more favourable. We can strengthen security, expand the boundaries of peace, and create a new era of stability through strength", he noted.

In addition, particular emphasis has been placed on strengthening the American-Israeli alliance. Netanyahu became the first foreign leader to be received by Trump at the White House following his inauguration, which, according to the Israeli Prime Minister, confirms not only the strength of bilateral relations but also the personal friendship between the leaders.
