EV import duties scrapped

Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted by a majority to finally abolish customs duties on electric vehicles.

The lawmakers passed the relevant law.

Contrary to many expectations, based on repeated failed attempts to vote on the law and endless postponements of the vote, it was finally adopted today.

One can only hope that electric vehicles will become more accessible to Ukrainians in the near future. And perhaps, before long, the same will apply to other types of transport, and the duties on them will cease to be exorbitant.
