Porchoshenko exposed as lying while defending his sons, accused of evading mobilisation

Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has found himself at the centre of a scandal after attempting to defend his sons, who, according to media reports, evaded mobilisation and are hiding in London. However, his statements have raised doubts among military personnel and journalists, who have exposed the politician’s lies, reports UNIAN.

First lie: “Oleksiy Poroshenko is not a draft dodger”

Poroshenko claimed that his eldest son is legally abroad, as he works for an international corporation and is studying. However, the actual facts suggest otherwise:

• He has been officially fined for evading mobilisation.
• His assets have been frozen, and a portion of the family’s multi-billion-dollar fortune is registered in his name.
• Poroshenko’s team did not contest the fine, but simply paid it, which effectively confirms the evasion.

This information was revealed by military blogger “Stalker”, who monitors facts regarding violations of mobilisation requirements.

Second lie: “Oleksiy fought near Ilovaisk”

As early as 2014, journalist Yuriy Butusov refuted Oleksiy Poroshenko’s participation in the battles near Ilovaisk, yet the former president continues to spread this myth.

What about the younger son?

Mykhailo Poroshenko is already 25 years old, but he lives in London, where, according to media reports:

• He wears a T-shirt with the word “Russia” on it, shouting “Russians in London!”
• He admits that he does not speak Ukrainian.

Petro Poroshenko himself sees no problem with his sons not defending the country, stating that it is their personal choice. “You can ask: why didn’t my son go as a volunteer? That is his decision,” the politician commented.
