Ukraine is ready to take Hungary's place in the European Union and NATO if the latter decides to leave these organisations in favour of joining the CIS or the CSTO.

This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in response to accusations from Hungary, which claimed that the rise in gas prices in the EU was allegedly caused by the cessation of Russian fuel transit.

It should be understood that Hungary is unlikely to leave the EU or NATO. It is trying to sit on multiple stools at once. And so far, it has been successfully managing to do so.
