Ukrainian IT industry continues to grow

The Ukrainian IT industry has held a leading position in the market for several years. Recent reports have confirmed this assertion.

The country's programmers are in demand worldwide. At the same time, major corporations are opening their offices in the country. In doing so, they obtain high-quality services while simultaneously saving on labour costs. This applies to programmers, web designers, and other specialists.

More than 4,000 such companies operate in Ukraine, with over 184 000 specialists in this field. A single large web studio website creation typically consists of at least 10 qualified employees.

The following data was presented in a report recently published in the global press:

·         Approximately $300 million was invested in the Ukrainian IT industry.

·         IT is the second-largest service export sector and provides significant revenue to the budget.

·         Ukraine is the leader in IT service exports among European countries. According to current trends, exports will exceed $8 billion within five to six years.

·         Approximately 100 major companies included in the Fortune 500 ranking use the services of Ukrainian specialists.

·         About 20 Ukrainian companies providing IT services are included in the The 2018 Global Outsourcing-10 ranking.

·         Ukrainian specialists have placed the country in the top 24 states for software development.

·         Nearly 150 000 patents for developments in the IT sector are registered in the country.

A number of Ukrainian companies have secured development contracts, each worth more than $100 million.

Company offices are open in many major cities, including: Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro. These cities are the leaders. Firms not only engage in development independently but also provide support to promising startups and young programmers.
