Shooting breaks out in Brussels again

Shooting broke out in Brussels again in the night of 6 to 7 February, marking the fourth incident in the past few days. According to a report by the Belgian publication The Brussels Times, the incident took place in the Peterbos district of Anderlecht, where the body of a deceased person was found at the scene.

As reported by Brussels Mayor Fabrice Dumont, the shooting occurred around 4 am, resulting in one fatality. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. Investigative teams and forensic experts are working at the scene.

Mayor Dumont called on the Belgian federal authorities to allocate additional resources to the local police to halt the growing wave of violence and curb the activities of criminal networks. He noted that increased patrolling in problem areas is only a temporary solution to the current situation.

This is the third case this week in which such tragic incidents have occurred in Brussels. Yesterday, on 6 February, one person was also injured in a shooting in the Clémenceau district.
