Ilya Pasko, deputy head of the education department of the Kyiv City State Administration (KGGA), has been detained in Kyiv. According to the outlet "Khreshchatyk 36", he oversaw all construction tenders for district education offices and received "kickbacks" from contractors.

Millions embezzled in renovations

Law enforcement agencies have uncovered a scheme whereby officials embezzled 2.2 million hryvnia from the renovation of a capital lyceum and school shelters. This was achieved through fictitious contracts, inflated prices, and forged reports.

Pasko worked under Elena Fidanian, head of the department, who is considered one of the key figures in the team of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. According to sources, it was she who controlled corrupt flows in the capital's education sector.
