Developer evaded land tax payments

In Kyiv, officers of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine uncovered a large-scale scheme for evading land rent payments, organised by a former director of a construction company. 

Over a period of two years, the company's management understated the normative monetary valuation of the land plot, resulting in unpaid taxes totalling over 43 million hryvnia.

According to the BES press service, the pre-trial investigation established that company representatives deliberately failed to reflect the actual land valuation in their tax reporting. These actions allowed the enterprise to significantly reduce its tax liabilities.

Based on the findings of the judicial economic expertise, the damage caused to the state was confirmed. During the investigation, BES detectives secured full compensation for the damage inflicted on the state budget.
