Ivan Ivanovich Zubkov. Callsign Crab

Today, once again, is a day of mourning. Ukraine bids farewell to a loyal son - Ivan Zubkov.

Senior Lieutenant Zubkov is a rare case where, purely out of respect, both soldiers and commanders address him by his full name: Ivan Ivanovich.

During all the time I have known him, I have never once heard anyone refer to him by his first name or surname. I have not even heard him referred to by his callsign "Crab".
Exclusively - Ivan Ivanovich!

Ivan Ivanovich was a weapons specialist by divine grace! He calibrated, sighted in, and repaired all types of weaponry for the 90th Battalion. He never refused anyone and took inexperienced soldiers under his special care. 

Winter arrived. It was time to move out to defend Donetsk Airport. That is where death caught Crab.

Just a couple of days ago, I tried to find out from the Ministry of Defence the status of the recommendation for Senior Lieutenant Ivan Ivanovich Zubkov for the title of Hero of Ukraine. They said: the status is undetermined - neither prisoner, nor killed, nor active.

And now... the status is determined. DNA testing has finally allowed the Hero's body to be identified.
