Attempt to influence Austrian law enforcement

Hungarian media have published documents indicating attempts by Aron Orban, brother of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, to organise the seizure of another Ukrainian "golden convoy." Journalists gained access to correspondence between Aron Orban and a Hungarian businessman residing in Austria.

In the correspondence, the Hungarian official's brother inquired whether it was possible for Austrian law enforcement agencies to detain Ukrainian cargo that was due to arrive in the country. Aron Orban emphasised that he possessed information on the exact arrival time of this transport.

Refusal to cooperate

The businessman rejected Aron Orban's proposal. Their communication subsequently ceased. This episode occurred against the backdrop of the previously publicised case concerning the so-called "golden convoy," linked to the movement of Ukrainian assets.
