Leadership change in the Third Army Corps

Dmytro Rogozhuk has taken the post of commander of the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by Andrii Biletsky on 19 October during a meeting with journalists dedicated to the results of the military operation "Vivaldi". Prior to his new appointment, Rogozhuk led the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Andrii Biletsky, who previously commanded the corps, currently holds the position of commander of the "Centre" military grouping. He was replaced by an officer who combines practical combat experience with operational planning skills.

Biography of the new commander

Dmytro Rogozhuk, known by the callsign "Rohoz", began his military career in December 2013. Initially, he served in a transport aviation brigade, and in 2017 he returned to civilian life.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, he re-enlisted. As part of the "Azov – Kyiv" unit, he took part in the defence of the capital. He later commanded a company in the first assault battalion of the Third Separate Assault Brigade near Bakhmut and was involved in operational planning. After the formation of the corps, he became the deputy chief of staff.

Results of work in the previous position

Rogozhuk took command of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade in October 2025. Speaking about this period, the officer noted that the unit needed changes in its management system, staffing, and personnel training.

According to him, personnel changes were made in the brigade, and approaches to management and combat operations used in the Third Corps were implemented. Particular attention was paid to the interaction between units and the planning of combat tasks.

Brigade's participation in the "Vivaldi" operation

Rogozhuk reported that the 60th Brigade took part in all four stages of the "Vivaldi" operation. Initially, Ukrainian troops had to stabilise their section of the front, then eliminate Russian groups that had penetrated the defence, and transition to offensive actions.

According to the commander's assessment, in terms of the area of liberated territory during the operation, the brigade showed the second-best result after the Third Assault Brigade.

In total, over the four stages of the operation, as reported by the Third Army Corps, Ukrainian forces liberated 16 settlements and 277 km² of territory. According to command data, the AFU regained control over 101 km² of territory, including Zelena Dolyna, Lypove, and Kolodyazi.
