Klychko: Metro service across the Southern Bridge to resume only after expert assessment

The Kyiv Metro will not be able to restore train traffic across the Southern Bridge until specialists prepare an official assessment of the structure's condition. This applies even to situations where only the yellow threat level is in effect or there is no air raid alert at all.

Dependence on technical inspection

This was stated by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klychko. According to him, the top priority is assessing the integrity of the bridge's structures following Russian strikes.

The city currently cannot guarantee the safety of transport operations without a thorough analysis. Only after receiving a positive expert assessment will the green line be able to return to the section across the Dnipro.

Traffic restrictions

Consequently, passengers should expect prolonged restrictions. Metro traffic across the Southern Bridge may remain suspended even during calm conditions, until all necessary inspections are completed.

Previously, the capital considered a scenario in which the green line would operate across the bridge under the yellow threat level. However, after the transition to the red level, trains operated only on separate sections of the line.
