Kremlin admits: US cannot force Kyiv into peace without Europe's involvement

Authorities in Moscow have acknowledged that the United States lacks the ability to force Ukraine into a peaceful settlement of the conflict if it does not take into account the position of European partners. This was stated by Russian presidential aide Dmitry Ushakov.

The complexity of pressure on Kyiv

According to Ushakov, following the meeting in Anchorage, Washington developed the impression that the American side was capable of dictating terms and forcing Kyiv to comply with them. However, in practice, this has not yet happened.

«Після зустрічі в Анкориджі складалося враження, що американська сторона здатна щось наказати і змусити Київ це виконати. Однак на практиці цього поки не сталося, адже недостатньо вести діалог лише з Києвом — потрібно враховувати позицію всієї Європи, яка повністю підтримує українську сторону» (After the meeting in Anchorage, the impression was created that the American side was capable of ordering something and forcing Kyiv to carry it out. However, in practice, this has not yet happened, as it is not enough to hold a dialogue only with Kyiv — it is necessary to take into account the position of all of Europe, which fully supports the Ukrainian side), the Russian presidential aide emphasised.

The decisive role of European states

Ushakov underscored that the attitude of European states could become the key factor in resolving the issue of ending the war.
