Trump confirms Microsoft interest in buying TikTok

US President Donald Trump stated that Microsoft has expressed interest in acquiring the popular social media platform TikTok.

Answering questions from journalists aboard Air Force One, Trump confirmed that Microsoft is being considered among potential buyers. When asked if the corporation is one of the interested contenders, he briefly replied: «Я бы сказал да» (I would say yes).

The situation surrounding TikTok has become a subject of close attention from the US Congress, which has set a condition: a change of ownership of the platform is a necessary step for it to continue operating within the country.

Speaking to journalists, Trump noted that he supports competitive bidding, emphasising that such situations often lead to the most favourable deals. «Мне нравятся войны на торгах, потому что тогда заключаются лучшие сделки» (I like bidding wars because that is when the best deals are made), he added.
