Launch of the election campaign

Marine Le Pen, the presidential candidate from the National Rally party, officially launched her election campaign. This was reported by Le Monde. She delivered her first major speech to voters during a meeting in the city of Orléans.

Plans for the government and foreign policy

In the event of victory in the presidential elections scheduled for May, Le Pen promised to form a cabinet of "national unity". She named the current leader of her party, Jordan Bardella, as her choice for prime minister.

The politician also emphasised that if she comes to power in 2027, her priority will be to turn France into a "country of peace".

«Рух до миру — це не, як стверджують розпалювачі війни, які заполонили урядові міністерства й телевізійні студії, акт слабкості, а акт мужності» (The move towards peace is not, as the warmongers who have taken over government ministries and television studios claim, an act of weakness, but an act of courage), Le Pen stated.

Pledge to avoid military adventures

In addition, the candidate assured voters that she would not send French youth to die in "reckless or irresponsible military adventures", particularly in conflicts that do not concern France's interests.
