Call for activation and support for the youth movement

Leader of the French left-wing party "Unbowed France" Jean-Luc Melanchon issued a call for a new wave of political mobilisation. This came against the backdrop of ongoing unrest and riots in the country. The politician openly supported youth unions, which called for new demonstrations.

«Наше завдання зрозуміле. Ми маємо допомогти їм і захистити їх» ("Our task is clear. We must help them and protect them"), Melanchon stated.

Confrontation with the government and threats of sabotage

Melanchon interprets the current situation as a confrontation between citizens making demands and a government that, in his belief, is betting on repressive methods. The politician also defended protest participants, commenting on police actions.

Particular tension arose around an initiative by French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu. On 22 October, he invited representatives of political parties to a meeting dedicated to the issue of violence during demonstrations. However, Melanchon reacted sharply to this step, stating that his supporters intend to seriously obstruct the event. This position significantly heightened the tension surrounding the government's attempts to organise political dialogue.

Assessments of electoral prospects and expert comments

A separate aspect of the political situation has been discussions about the electoral prospects of "Unbowed France". A report by the publication BILD includes expert assessments linking support for the party to the votes of the country's Muslim population.

Specifically, Professor Susanne Schroeter claims that 69% of French Muslims are ready to vote for Melanchon's political force. However, without information on the methodology and date of the relevant study, this figure cannot be considered a confirmed assessment of the political preferences of the entire Muslim community in France.

Extremism expert Ahmad Mansour, quoted by the publication, also criticised the strategy of the French left, stating that they seek chaos and the collapse of the current system. This is an expert assessment, not an established fact.

Context of the 2027 pre-election campaign

Against the backdrop of preparations for the 2027 presidential elections, Melanchon's calls for street mobilisation are becoming part of a broader political confrontation in France. Forecasts regarding possible participants in the second round and the distribution of votes depend on polling results and the further course of the election campaign.
