Neuralink implants third neural chip in human brain

Elon Musk's company Neuralink has completed another stage of trials: a neural chip was successfully implanted in a third patient. Bloomberg reports.

The first patient uses the device to interact with social media, while the second uses it to play Counter-Strike 2. The primary goal of the development is to assist people with spinal cord injuries. The chips allow users to control computers or smartphones with their thoughts. According to the company, all devices are functioning properly.

Neuralink plans to install another 20–30 such implants in 2025. The first person to receive the chip was 29-year-old Noland Arbo, a fully paralysed patient. The implant processes signals from the brain and transmits them to a computer, helping the user interact with the surrounding world.

Previously, Musk stated that he intends to make neural chips available to a wider audience, which could change the approach to rehabilitation and communication for people with disabilities.
