The Volunteer Medical Battalion "Hospitaliers" announced sad news: their colleague, war veteran and paramedic Olena Shargovska, who fought under the callsign "Jane", has died. During her lifetime, she was directly involved in saving wounded military personnel under the most difficult front-line conditions and was engaged in training fighters in the field of tactical medicine.
Olena Shargovska's service path in the conditions of an armed conflict began back in 2015. Initially, she became part of the First Volunteer Mobile Hospital named after Mykola Pirogov, and later joined the ranks of the "Hospitaliers" battalion.
While carrying out combat missions, "Jane" went to the most dangerous zones of the front line to evacuate the wounded, helping to save the lives of Ukrainian defenders.
In September 2022, Olena joined the International Legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the new unit, she continued to provide medical assistance to wounded fighters and conduct training in tactical medicine. In parallel with this work, the paramedic continued to participate in rotations as part of the "Hospitaliers" battalion.
Before the start of the full-scale invasion and during peacetime, Olena Shargovska worked in the media sphere, holding positions of a journalist and editor.
