Macron's approval rating hits record low of 18%

Historic low in support for the head of state

French President Emmanuel Macron has suffered a significant drop in approval ratings to 18%, marking a historic record low. According to the latest data, this index decreased by seven percentage points compared to the previous measurement. This is reported by BFMTV, citing the results of a study conducted by Odoxa and Mascaret.

Reasons for public dissatisfaction

The main reason for the decline in the head of state's popularity is French citizens' concern over government actions. Specifically, society criticises the authorities' policy on curbing fuel price increases, which, according to respondents, fails to deliver the desired results.

Approval rating dynamics for opposition leaders

Meanwhile, leaders of the far-right National Rally party, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, demonstrate the highest figures among politicians, maintaining 35% support each. Despite this, their results also show a downward trend: since June of this year, their ratings have fallen by 4–5 per cent.

Previously, Marine Le Pen publicly stated that in the event of her victory in the presidential elections, she intends to stop providing financial aid to Ukraine.
