Israeli intelligence: FlyDubai second pilot intended to destroy Boeing near Tel Aviv

Israeli intelligence has revealed details of the attempted hijacking of a FlyDubai aircraft. As reported by Corriere della Sera, the second pilot intended to eliminate the captain and destroy the Boeing near Tel Aviv.

Strategy of a stealth attack

According to intelligence data, the crime was to unfold according to a scenario that would not attract attention until the last moment. Such a course of events would not have left Israeli fighter jets enough time to take off and intercept the aircraft.

Struggle in the cockpit

During the flight, the second pilot attacked Captain Smith Machchar, using an emergency axe. Despite severe injuries and a nearly severed arm, the captain managed to reach the cockpit door and unlock it.

Eventually, passengers and two pilots who were on board as passengers burst into the cockpit. They jointly subdued the attacker.

Emergency landing in Saudi Arabia

When the initial plan failed, the perpetrator attempted to dive the aircraft. In just over 30 seconds, the Boeing lost approximately 4.9 km of altitude.

Control of the aircraft was taken over by the two pilot-passengers. The plane subsequently made an emergency landing in the Saudi city of Tabuk.
