Warning regarding the use of the civilian segment

Serhiy Sternenko responded to Elon Musk's public accusations, with the latter previously claiming that Ukraine had violated the terms of use of the Starlink system by employing it for offensive drone strikes. According to Musk, the ability to use civilian infrastructure for such purposes was disabled last week.

However, Sternenko refuted these claims. He emphasised that using civilian Starlink for combat drones was technically impossible. All combat missions were carried out exclusively through the military Starshield system.

Control and authorisation mechanism

In response to Musk, the blogger explained that clear "white lists" had been implemented back in February. For any terminal to operate while in motion, mandatory authorisation within the Starshield system was required. Thanks to this mechanism, Sternenko said, there were no violations on Ukraine's part.

Involvement in the process at the Ministry of Defence

Serhiy Sternenko also stated that he had been directly involved in the process of applying the American Starshield system to combat drones at the Ministry of Defence.
