While part of Ukrainian business is trying to adapt to wartime conditions and regulatory pressure, certain representatives of the elite demonstrate a different model of existence: simultaneous residence abroad and retention of assets in Ukraine. Together with the family of Friedrich Pollak, former chairman of the bankrupt Union Standard Bank, and his wife Tetiana Pollak (née Medvedeva), this vividly illustrates the division of life between Europe and their native Zakarpattia region.
Tetiana Pollak became known not only as the wife of a controversial figure in financial investigations, but also as a co-founder of the online service Farvater Travel, which specialises in searching for and booking tours. Recently, she has also positioned herself as a psychotherapist for top management.
According to registry data, her official business address is still tied to Ukraine. Since 2006, she has been registered as an individual entrepreneur in Uzhhorod at the address: 4/22 Zaliznychna Street, Apt. 210. She is the founder, manager, and beneficial owner of a number of legal entities:
The family's actual place of residence has long gone beyond the scope of Zakarpattia documents. Tetiana, along with her children — daughter Frida and son David — currently resides in London. In September 2026, the family was on holiday in the prestigious Vuli district of Athens.
In March of this year, the Uzhhorod court considered Friedrich Pollak's lawsuit (case No. 308/3451/26) regarding the dissolution of the marriage, division of joint property, determination of the children's place of residence, and recovery of alimony. However, just five days later, the plaintiff's representative withdrew the statement of claim, and the court returned it without examining the merits.
Behind the family disputes lies a significant financial structure. Tetiana Pollak has dozens of bank accounts opened in leading Ukrainian financial institutions, including JSC "Alfa-Bank", JSC "Pravex Bank", JSC "Ukrsibbank", JSC "Universal Bank", JSC KB "PrivatBank", and JSC "Union Standard Bank". She also has registered real estate: an apartment in Uzhhorod at 39 Hrushevsky Street.
Friedrich Pollak himself is in the spotlight due to his involvement in the Money24 fraud network and the bankruptcy proceedings of Union Standard Bank, which creates additional context for analysing his wife's assets.
