Trump threatens to send US warships to Cuba

US President Donald Trump stated that after the completion of the military operation against Iran, American warships may be sent to the shores of Cuba. According to him, such a demonstration of military presence will force the Cuban authorities to capitulate and agree to a deal with Washington.

Details of the possible manoeuvre

The American leader noted that one of the ships would stop approximately 50 yards from the Cuban coast, which is about 46 metres. He suggested that after such a move, the Cuban side would surrender, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio would travel to the island to conclude a deal.

Meanwhile, Trump did not specify what exactly the agreements would entail, nor did he name possible deadlines for sending American ships to Cuba.
