Expert forecast: the 60-hryvnia threshold will not be the final limit

The autogas market in Ukraine is preparing for a new phase of price increases. According to estimates by fuel market expert Serhiy Kuyun, the cost of a litre of autogas may soon cross the 60-hryvnia mark. The expert emphasised that the current price level is unlikely to be the limit for consumers.

Commenting on the situation in the podcast "CE BAZA", Kuyun noted that prices have already approached a critical level. "I think that 60 hryvnia per litre, if we have not crossed it today, we will cross it in the near future. And this is not the limit," he stressed.

Impact of the Algerian supplier and resource shortage

One of the key factors driving price growth is the activity of the Algerian company Sonatrach, which is one of the world's leading gas producers. According to Kuyun, in October 2026, the company had already raised prices on its products by 20%.

Now, against the backdrop of a general fuel shortage in Ukraine, a new adjustment in prices is expected. The exact size of the future increase is currently unknown. "It is expected that against the backdrop of the shortage, they will review this price again and raise it. By how much is unknown for now, we are waiting. But, most likely, the tension over gas will persist," the expert warned.

Current prices at gas stations as of 2 November

As of 2 November 2026, the cost of autogas at major network stations remained stable. Thus, at OKKO, WOG, and SOCAR stations, a litre cost 59.90 UAH. At the UPG network, the price was 57.90 UAH, and at "Ukrnafta" — 56.90 UAH.

Meanwhile, changes were recorded in the diesel fuel segment. The "Ukrnafta" network raised the cost of standard and premium diesel by 1 hryvnia per litre: to 103.90 UAH and 105.90 UAH, respectively. Prices for diesel at other networks remained unchanged. The lowest cost among the mentioned operators was recorded at UPG — 102.90 UAH/l, while at SOCAR a litre cost 111 UAH. Prices for A-92, A-95, and A-100 petrol grades did not change on this date.

Petrol price dynamics since the start of the year

The overall fuel situation in Ukraine is closely linked to trends in the global energy market. Economist Olena Nusinova reported that since the beginning of 2026, the average cost of A-95 petrol in the country has increased by 54.6%. The price rose from 58.26 to 90.08 hryvnia per litre.

Further formation of energy carrier prices will depend on several external factors: the situation in the international market, developments around Iran, the safety of maritime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as decisions by the member countries of the OPEC+ cartel.

Thus, drivers face a new increase in the cost of autogas. The final price level will be determined by how much the cost of foreign producers' products changes and how the situation with fuel supply to the country develops.
