Organised network of sexual exploitation

Law enforcement officers in Dnipro uncovered the activities of a criminal group that recruited women to provide sexual services. The investigation established that four residents of the city organised locations for such activities, seeking victims who found themselves in difficult life circumstances.

Methods of pressure on victims

To keep the women in subjection and force them to work, participants in the criminal scheme resorted to various forms of pressure. The investigation recorded instances of physical violence, threats, and psychological intimidation. In addition, the perpetrators artificially created debt obligations.

Division of roles within the criminal group

The participants in the joint criminal plan clearly divided functions among themselves. Some suspects were directly involved in searching for and recruiting new victims. Others performed the roles of administrators, while also ensuring security and logistics, acting as a guard and a driver.

All four defendants have now been notified of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
