On 4 October, a public action organised by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) took place in Moscow. The rally started near the monument at Krasnopresnenskaya Zastava Square, after which a column of participants moved towards the memorial at the site where the defenders of the government building died.
During the event, security forces began mass detaining citizens. According to the media outlet Novaya Gazeta Europe, the number of those arrested is approximately 60. Around 20 of them were taken to the Krasnopresnenskoye police station. Among the detained were 26 representatives of the CPRF, around 30 members of the Yabloko party, and several other activists.
