Court ruling on scheme participant

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HAC) signed another plea deal with a defendant in the high-profile case concerning the creation of a so-called back-office at Ukrzaliznytsia. This time it concerns realtor Oleksandr Liskovatskyi, who was previously charged with laundering funds obtained through criminal means.

Suspended sentence and probation period

Under the terms of the deal, Liskovatskyi was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. Additionally, he was deprived of the right to engage in professional activity in the real estate sector for three years. Confiscation of property is not provided for.

At the same time, the court released the defendant from actual serving of the sentence, establishing a probation period of three years.

Testimony against co-founder

Prosecution representatives emphasised that the key factor for a lighter sentence was that Oleksandr Liskovatskyi provided incriminating testimony regarding Artem Shil and other defendants in the case. Shil is one of the founders of the structure through which funds were allegedly siphoned off, according to the investigation.

Investigators also took into account that Liskovatskyi's role was limited to receiving a standard realtor's commission. He did not receive any other material benefit from the implementation of the criminal plan.
