The full bail amount of 20 million hryvnia has been paid for Iryna Mudra, who previously held the position of deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. This was reported by sources in law enforcement agencies.
Previously, the suspect's defence sought to reduce the financial obligations. During the hearing of the appeal against the chosen preventive measure, Mudra's lawyers asked the court to reduce the bail from 20 million to 12.5 million hryvnia. According to sources, as of 28 September, exactly that amount had been collected, of which 5 million hryvnia consisted of Iryna Mudra's own funds.
However, the High Anti-Corruption Court refused to satisfy the defence's motion and left the bail unchanged at 20 million hryvnia.
Iryna Mudra is under suspicion within the framework of a criminal case known as 'Forrest Gump'. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) stated that it had exposed a criminal group which, according to the investigation, organised and ensured the laundering of funds obtained through criminal means.
According to investigation data, the group included the deputy head of the President's Office, a former member of parliament, the chairman of the board of a state bank, and the chairman of the supervisory board of a state bank.
