Departure of a prominent actress from the Ukrainian stage

Nataliia Perchevska, a Merited Artist of Ukraine and long-time member of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre, has passed away. The actress dedicated over 50 years to her profession, performing in a series of landmark Ukrainian productions.

News of the actress's death was published on the theatre's official page on the social network Facebook. The institution emphasised that the legacy left by artists often exceeds the sum of their roles and stage performances.

«Відхід людини, яка присвятила своє життя мистецтву, завжди залишає порожнечу. І водночас залишається пам’ять, яку бережуть колеги, друзі та глядачі» (The departure of a person who dedicated their life to art always leaves a void. At the same time, a memory remains, which is cherished by colleagues, friends and audiences), the company's statement read.

The company expressed its condolences to relatives, loved ones, and everyone who knew and respected Nataliia Mykolaivna. Details of the farewell ceremony were promised to be provided later.

Creative path at the Franko Theatre

Nataliia Perchevska joined the troupe of the Ivan Franko Theatre in 1972. She remained part of the company continuously for the following decades. During this time, the actress performed a number of significant roles in well-known productions, including:

  • «Кайдашева сім’я»;
  • «Тев’є-Тевель»;

  • «Баба Параска».

A generation that shaped the face of the theatre

Nataliia Perchevska belonged to the generation of actors who shaped the artistic image of the Franko Theatre in the second half of the 20th century. Her career extended into the era of independent Ukraine, where she continued to work actively on stage.

Her departure becomes yet another loss for the company, which has repeatedly bid farewell to its veterans recently.
